Sentimentalismo e ironía en Ángel del Campo

Abstract

For a long time it was common in critical circles to give priority to the storytelling slant of Micrós, leaving on one side both his chronicles and his only complete known novel, La Rumba, published in twenty sections in the pages of El Nacional between 1890 and 1891; perhaps the partial oblivion of this last novel work is due to its late publication. In this essay the author performs a re-evaluation of the chronicle of Micrós and points out the themes which criticism can explore in future studies.
