Resumen : Published material on the Maya hieroglyphs indicates that there has been some confusion in differentiating glyhp Muluc from glyph Mol. This is perhaps due to the fact that the Maya scribes utilized the Muluc symbol for a part of the Mol hieroglyph. While the employment of he Muluc element in the Mol symbol appears to have been intended by the Maya scribes to express the close esoteric association of these two glyphs, it produced the difficulties of identification encountered by modern researches. Exploration of this problem has developed some clarifying factors which should be given consideration.
