Hora y 20 by Carlos Pellicer: a critical edition of the poems “Variaciones sobre un tema de viaje” and “Semana holandesa”

Abstract

The artistic and intellectual concerns of Carlos Pellicer were variedand valuable, but there is still no critical edition of his poetry. In a partial way,this paper aims to overcome the void with the critical edition of two long poemsof Pellicer: “Variaciones sobre un tema de viaje” and “Semana holandesa”,included in Hora y 20 (1927). I consider locating the path followed by Pellicer,from writing to publication, can be helpful to understand his work. I appreciatethe collaboration of Carlos Pellicer Lopez, nephew of the poet and owner of thefirst edition of Hora y 20, as well as manuscripts and typewritten documentsused to write this article.
